The Joe Kocur Foundation for Children, created in 2009, is dedicated to helping children, by providing financial and logistical support to non-profit organizations that serve them effectively and, at times, directly to families in need.
The Foundation generates its resources through fundraising events that provide opportunities for members of our community have fun with one another and with some of their favorite professional athletes and other accomplished celebrities—all in the spirit of fun and caring.

ABOUT JOE
Joe Kocur, a former NHL hockey player with the Detroit Red Wings, was born on December 21, 1964, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Known for his physical play and powerful right-hand punches, Kocur was a key enforcer for the Red Wings during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Playing alongside fellow tough guy, Bob Probert, Kocur was part of the Red Wings’ “Bruise Brothers” duo, contributing significantly to the team’s aggressive style of play.
Kocur won two Stanley Cups with the Red Wings in 1997 and 1998. After retiring from professional hockey, he remained involved in the sport, coaching youth teams and participating in alumni events.
Today, Kocur is also recognized for his charitable work, including his involvement in the Joe Kocur Foundation for Children, which supports various causes in the Metro Detroit area.
